Blanking Plate Challenge.

I had to fit a double blanking plate today over an old metal box. The socket was like this with four securing screws. I imagined that I would have to drill at least two if not four holes accurately in the new blanking plate but>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>the answer presented itself. How?

  • So it is!

  • Yep, I found that the metal box in the wall did in fact have six lugs. So I used the two previously unused lugs for the new blanking plate. M.K. must have anticipated the use of the new two screw sockets whilst the four screw sockets were still in use.

  • Yes there were quite a few six hole back boxes installed a few years back and it did prove quite ago idea from the installer`s perspective
