18th edition niceic-elearn question

Looking for help on this question as I am completely stumped, every what seems to be feasible answer is apparently wrong.

Can anybody please advise?

  • Not 11 then?

But them I'm easily confused - I don't understand why 3 of the RCBO output seem to terminate into the Earth bar.

       - Andy.

  • Is this a 2 phase 25way board? or is it someones fantasy

  • That might explain why those RCBOs have tripped

I'm concerned that the incoming line conductor appears to be undersized

  • Yep I'd go for 11 are turned off , 6 on top bar, 5 on lower.and complain to the exam board and ask them to show their working if they disagree. But then I'm like that ;- )

Unless the answer is 'none they are all  AFDDs...' in which case I'd definitely complain !
Of course at least one of them would do nothing even if turned on - the rightmost of the bank of three on the lower bar has  no outbound, but that is not the question it is still not in the 'ON'  position.

  • Two have no circuit connections so 9? Stupid trick question anyway, learning nil point!

  • What is the device on the left in the lower bank, and what does the amber signal mean? Notwithstanding the position of the dolly, if that has tripped, then all of the lower bank's MCBs are off.

  • You would hope all of them from a remote location as the lid is removed and main switch is on.   Looks like a facebook question rather than a proper technical question.

  • I think I have it. There are no markings or BS numbers visible in the "picture" so none of them are MCBs or RCBOs so none are switched off! (Prompted by Gary's Facebook mention Thumbsup)

  • If they are unused then their matching neutrals should be terminated into earth bar as well as the live.
