DOOR BELL CAMERA

Good afternoon All

I am thinking of installing a door bell camera at my house. I have been looking at information on line and I get more confused the more I look.

My specification is.

1. Mains power to the device to avoid battery charging or changing batteries.

2. I don't want to pay an ongoing subscription or fee.

3. An indoor sounder or alert.

4. High resolution colour camera.

5. Will link to and can be viewed on my IPhone.

Can anyone advise me of a suitable quality device to install?

Thanks

JP

  • No door bell wiring, transformer or chime installed at the moment.

I can SDS a hole behind the outside push and supply  install SELV wiring to it without much of a problem. No problem with a 230V supply inside.

    Thanks

    JP

  • Hard-wiring is usually better. You can either power the doorbell with a plug in power supply or house a SELV transformer in a small (CU type) enclosure.

As you probably know, Ring is popular but requires a subscription if you want to store the video footage.

Also worth looking at is Blink by Amazon and EZVIZ.
