I was trying to find information on my local OCGT generator and by chance ended up on a site with a map of the UK and European grid it looked like the euro grid now is connected to the Russian grid I can't beleive that true any of you know? I was told once that the frequency stability of the Russian grid was so bad that joining it to the euro grid would be impossible also with all that's going on in the world it would be a bad idea

There are several DC bridges (not shown) but since early 2022 the transfer to and from the Russian network has been limited and then spent much of the recent time switched off. Ukraine used to be Russian synched but is now running more or less in sync with Europe, and has both exported and imported power to from the west since then.
