Trimble high Zs

Hi all, I’m new to cable calculation software and I’m having some trouble with Trimble. I’m sure it must be a settings issue, but when calculating for a circuit I’m getting much higher than expected values for Zs and in particular, Z2.

If I incorporate the CPC within a multicore cable I get results similar to that calculated by hand, but when I have a separate CPC the values end up way off and I have high Zs errors.

Please help!

  • I’m getting much higher than expected values for Zs and in particular, Z2.

Are these armoured cables? If so, your "by hand" calculations should also lead to a higher value (in the way that AMK said) as discussed in the IET Electrical Installation Design Guide.
