Hi,
I have an existing install which has a single consumer unit for an entire house. I have added a battery storage system with a backup board and need to move over various circuits so they remain ON during a power failure.
There is a length of large trunking across the top of both units. I have 2 options to bring the cables into the new board:
1) Join the cables inside of the trunking - my question here, are WAGO connectors ok? The plastic lid can only really be removed with a tool or very strong hands!
2) Run a length of trunking under both units, and then extend from the existing consumer unit into the new one. In this instance, the cables will be jointed in CU1 and terminated into CU2. Is this compliant?
My preference would be an external JB but this is very difficult given the location.
Thanks.
