Seeking a PRA in Civil Engineering (Wastewater Sector)

Dear all,

I hope you are well.

I am currently working in the wastewater sector and I am preparing my application for professional registration. I would like to connect with a PRA who has experience in civil engineering, preferably with a background in wastewater or related infrastructure works.

If anyone is available to guide me through the process or can recommend a suitable PRA, I would greatly appreciate your support and advice.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

  • Hi,  You can find a professional registration advisor online at: www.theiet.org/advice.  We don't provide PRAs by sector, but you will find one in your local area.  If you send them a draft copy of your application they can help you with it.

  • Thank you for the information and the link.

Is it acceptable if the PRA is not from the civil engineering sector, as my experience is mainly in wastewater projects? Would they still be able to review my application effectively?

    Looking forward to your advice.

  • Hi,

Yes, the PRA is advising against the way you present your evidence, and the way you show your professional approach to your work, they do not need to understand the technical details of your work.

Most us very regularly successfully help candidates outside our technical areas of expertise, and often in completely different industries. I've even helped candidates with the highest level of security clearance who couldn't tell me anything about their work (or what their names were)!

    Thanks,

    Andy
