Has this any failings do you think? The door can be replaced.

There's no stopping me now.

  • Has this any failings do you think? The door can be replaced.

  • What's happening?

  • Do I take it that that's your latest installation?

  • May not be immediately dangerous, but the whole thing looks bodged, improvised, and modified more than once.

  • If the door was replaced would it not have a tendency to fall of as this DB is designed to be mounted horizontally not vertically? or has the door already fallen off?

Unless it has been removed those fuse carriers contain woven asbestos.

Is there no end to the carp work carried out by the great British bodger?

  • Step one- posting a photo.

Step two- getting the photo the right way up.

  • in my browser I can turn it, at least it is not a bing search result or the daily wail.
So, is the upturned screw that looks like it is joining 2 red wires above the 2nd to LH fuse actually live, and if so is it mechanically fixed ?

Not too clear what is going on, I presume it feeds 8 caravan pitches or something, somewhere that would benefit from a non-steel box,.  Least its not live busbar and someone has labelled the L1 L2 blocks.

  • No Chris, it was a college C&G project in 1975.

  • What makes you think that the box is the wrong way up?

    Z.

  • Yes indeed, it has had sticking plaster applied to keep it going, AND it is still reliably in service on a local holiday chalet park site. A thing like that can't be replaced during high season.
