Digital accessibility: what is it and why does it matter?
1.3 billion people worldwide (16% of the total population) experience significant disability. 1 Digital accessibility is about designing and building digital products that can be used by everyone, regardless of ability or impairment, in different environments and on different devices. It's also a legal requirement in many countries (for example in the UK under the Equality Act of 2010).
