Throughout this week, we’ve had the privilege of sharing the inspiring stories of IET Award winners, showcasing their groundbreaking projects, and highlighting the profound impact of their work. Their dedication, creativity, and perseverance serve as a testament to the transformative power of engineering.

Let’s look back on the highlights of this celebratory week:

Insights from the Community

Finalists and winners of the IET Young Woman Engineer of the Year Awards shared their stories in our Community Insights blog.

We heard from Finalists Salma Al Arefi and Erin Lowe in  This engineer wants to educate future engineers and  Engineering high hopes for the future and learnt more about Mary George Memorial Prize winner Alexia Williams in Engines airplanes and engineering drive this apprentice   Engines, airplanes and engineering drive this apprentice   

We also met with Natalie Parker, winner of the Women’s Engineering Society (WES) Prize.in Keeping nuclear power safe and under control  and finally, congratulated IET Young Woman Engineer of the Year Marisa Kurimbokus, in Motorbikes, fuel cells and door panels - all in a day's work  

And we also recognised the contribution from volunteer and Paul Fletcher Prize winner ,Vimal Chaubey in  All that is driven by volunteers 

Local and Technical Network Prizes

We also learned more about winners of some of the many Local and Technical Network prizes awarded this year.

Congratulations once again to María Mitzi Abigail González Reynoso  And the winner is......Manufacturing on the Moon Early Careers and YP competition 2024  winner of the IET Manufacturing Student/YP Competition and William Tucker   Engineering dreams: My hope to work trackside winner of the IET Somerset and West Wiltshire Prize. Well deserved awards!
