At the start of the year I chose the theme of field based technologies. In search for next year’s theme, I attended the Megatrends evening hosted by the Royal Academy of Engineering. Amidst an extremely international crowd, technology trends were discussed by Dr Jason Blackstock, Snr. Lecturer in Science and Global Affairs at University College London and Neil Gray, Founder and CEO of Whirli. Whilst technology trends were reviewed, of interest was the mention of 4.0 Trends. Common themes such as shared economy Vs traditional ones were talked about – where Generation X won’t be waiting for that grandfather clock, but those that will, should be looking to better manage their own perceptions of what defines reality.
