Zs measurement on an Off Peak supply.

On an EIC for just metal board changes, one on "On Peak" and one on "Off Peak", what is the current thinking regarding entering Zs for the latter? - using an estimate of (R1 + R2) + Ze or just enter a Limitation, since this is an existing installation ?

Is a measurement of Ze (or Zs) actually required by BS 7671?

  • Is there a 24 hour supply from the same origin - if so this can be used to verify the earthing and supply is OK, and get a Zs for the external part. I;d be tempted to do the rest by calculation or dead tests and add it on.
  • Aren't your test leads long enough to reach from one board to the other and/or from the DNO earth terminal to the off-peak earth bar?

    Enquiry

  • Sometimes there's a boost button on the e7 meter
  • Adequate live testing from the normal supply and sufficient dead testing to the off peak supply to give the most reasonable conclusion possible.
